Week 3 – There’s Work to Be Done!

I heard a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done, and Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. In the end, Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

New Hope is a blessed church…why? Because not one of these people attend this church JJJ

We all know the old saying, “Many hands make light work”. We’ve been blessed for four years to be in a facility where we did not have to maintain the place. However, we are so very thankful to GOD for the setup teams who have faithfully given of their time to get here early to set up and stay late to tear down both in the room in which we gather for service and Kids Zone. Those days will soon be over…do I hear a hearty, “Thank You, JESUS!!!”

Moving into our new church is going to take all of us…many hands…doing our part with the gifts and talents we have been given in order to make light work of all that needs to be done by our move in date which right now is September 10 and even beyond that date. There may be jobs that need to be done out of your particular expertise, but all of us can lend a hand even as a gopher.

As I said in the first prayer initiative re unity…we are many parts making a wonderful symphony in unity and harmony with one another under one Conductor…Our LORD and KING…JESUS. Let’s pray throughout this process (and also determine within our own being) that the physical labor we are involved in only makes that bond of unity within this church body stronger, more steadfast, and more sure.

This past Monday, I read Nehemiah 3 about the people who rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem in 52 days. I am always inspired by Nehemiah…and would urge you to read at least the first six chapters for vision and strengthening…so exciting!

Below is encouragement from the HOLY SPIRIT through Paul for the work before us in readying our new building.

Colossians 3:23-24 (NAS)

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the LORD rather than for men; knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

I Corinthians 15:58 (New Living Translation)

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

Let’s pray often that we will not grow weary in doing the physical labor, knowing that we will reap a harvest in people’s lives being saved, delivered, healed, and set free and all to the GLORY of our great GOD and HIS SON, our SAVIOR, KING JESUS.
